"I've always enjoyed writing, but I was halfway through writing a novel when I got a birthday card from my brother Ian. Inside it said 'enjoy your birthday with passion, attitude and alcohol' and it suddenly dawned on me that I'd somehow lost my passion for fun and my attitude. As a mother of two small boys at the time, this card was like a wake up call for me. When I got that card I shelved my first novel and almost immediately the idea for Class Act was born. "Class Act is all about relationships and show me a woman who is not interested in relationships. They are intrinsic to our survival and sanity. But it also about not being afraid to make changes in your life if you think they need to be made. New me? New job? Fine, but plan the transition.
