Yasuyuki Ozeki had a dream – to cycle from Japan to Ireland, alone, through the Eurasian continent. He was acutely aware of and fascinated by the gap that lay in between these two countries. The only way he would ever be able to understand that gap was to ‘kick down the distance’ by bike. But his dream grew to more than he could ever have imagined. And after an interview on The Gerry Ryan Show everybody wanted to be part of that dream. Large companies from the Japanese tyre manufacturer Bridgestone to the multinational giant Guinness backed him while people throughout every country encouraged and befriended him. The journey was at times gruelling and dangerous, while at others uplifting and wonderous. He arrived at the Guinness Hopstore five months and 12,935.2 km later.

Charity Donation for Christina Noble Children's Foundation.
When Yaz called The Gerry Ryan Show from the Irish Embassy in Beijing he was told that Christina Noble Children's foundation staff were waiting for his arrival in Mongolia to offer whatever support they could. They spoilt him completely in Ulan Bator and he was able to continue his pedalling challenge to Ireland.
In appreciation of CNCF and also to support the children in Mongolia where Yaz's heart still lies he plans to help donations to that great cause. A donation account will be set up and a special Against the Wind book-mark will be given to donors. All monies received from sales of 7 peaks in 7 weeks tee-shirts will also be given to CNCF. Tee-shirts will cost €20 and are available from touring staff or by email.
