Mary Malone,

Author of Love Match, All You Need Is Love, Never Tear Us Apart

Mary Malone was born in Templemartin, Bandon, Co. Cork. Aged 18, she moved to Dublin to join the Civil Service, where she met her husband, Pat. Sixteen years and two sons later, Mary and Pat decided to leave the city lights behind in favour of the peace and quiet of Templemartin.

Mary's dearly departed father, Paddy McSweeney, instilled in Mary a love of interesting and imaginative tales and shortly after his death, Mary took the plunge and began to write the book she’d always been talking about. And now, a few years later, she’s still writing and doesn’t ever want to stop!

Her first novel, Love Match, was launched in 2006 and her second novel, All You Need Is Love, was published in October 2007.

Never Tear Us Apart is Mary’s third novel and will be published by Poolbeg Press in May 2009.

As well as being a novelist, Mary works in the Central Statistics Office in Cork. She’s also a freelance journalist and loves the variation between fact and fiction.

When she’s not working or writing, she loves spending time with her family and friends and walking their dog, Prince, who is generally the first to hear her read her books aloud!
