Sandra Mara

Dead Men Talk Sandra Mara

The telltale fingerprint. The DNA traced from a hair. Autopsies to establish cause and time of death. Ballistics to discover what gun was used. Tyre prints, dentals records, body fluids, maggots ... It’s all the stuff of the modern police TV drama. But forensics is a very real and vital part of solving any crime. And with modern technologies, the science of forensics has never been more relevant.

Sandra Mara delves into the fascinating world of the Irish forensics investigator. She describes how the Garda’s Forensic Science Laboratory has cracked some of Ireland’s most notorious crimes. She writes in – literally – forensic detail about the clues that have led to the high-profile arrests of murderers and criminals such as Joe O’Reilly, Sharon Collins and the Mulhall sisters.

From retina scanning to ballistics, toxicology to graphology, pathology to criminal profiling, the world of Dead Men Talk will draw you in and leave you breathless.

Haerd the author on Marian Finucane and just HAD to buy the book. I really enjoyed the read, true stories you can dip in and out of. You really got the feeling that the author was talking directly to you. I found the book very hard to put down, I just wanted to read one more story. Can't believe the writer did all that stuff, its like something you'd see on TV Does she gives classes or talk - wold love to know more - a fascinating life - would love to hear more.

Excellent read, very enjoyable and true to life. Sandra is not only an excellent Private Investigator, she was also an excellent teacher as 22 years after doing her course in UCD, I am now the head of the fraud department in a large international insurance company.

I would highly recommend this book for anybody who is interested in reading crime, or simply looking for a good book whilst on holiday.

Great read. Short, snappy stories which pack a punch. As a fan of real life crime books (especially Irish) this one is one of the best in recent years.
