Claire Allan

From the bestselling author of Feels Like Maybe Claire Allan

When Detta O'Neill returns to Donegal, she is determined to make a difference. Bringing together four lone parents for a support group, she tries her best to build bridges and forge friendships.

Niamh's dream of a perfect life in the country was cut cruelly short with the death of her husband Seán. Can she find her way again without the man she never thought could hurt her?

Ruth was left high and dry when her husband ran off with a younger woman. But could his desertion have been a blessing in disguise?

Liam doesn’t think so. His wife is the younger woman in question and he would do anything to win her back.

Which leaves teen mum Ciara. Everyone is just dying to know who the father of her child is, but does she have a reason for keeping her secret to herself?

Apart from being parents, can the group find anything in common? Can they find happiness and confidence again? And can Detta really make the difference she wants to make?

When she finds out she is pregnant, he decides the relationship is most definitely off and leaves her before she has time to say 'Mothercare'. Desperate to get him back – and convinced she can – Aoife doesn’t tell her family back home in Derry about her impending arrival until she is cradling newborn Maggie in her arms. She then has to return home to face the music –baby in tow and sanity absent without leave.

Meanwhile her best friend has been keeping a secret of her own. Beth and her husband Dan have been trying to get pregnant for the past two years. According to the doctors there is no medical reason for their failure to conceive. And if there is no reason, there can’t be a problem, can there?

Add a gorgeous gardener, an overbearing mother, a perfectly annoying sister-in-law and a well meaning aunt – all with secrets of their own – into the mix and you have 'Feels Like Maybe'.

This is the best book claire has written so far. I was transported into the village of Rathinch, and became a part of the everyday life and tales of hurt, friendship and laughter- i couldn't wait to turn the page and see what happened next. An excellent read, and highly recommended as a christmas present for all your friends and family.

I loved this book from start to finish and found it very hard to put down, in fact the housework was put on hold so I could carry on reading. The characters are easy to relate to and before the book ends I felt like I really knew them. Definitly Claire's best book so far, she seems to go from strength to strength with each book. I'm really looking forward to her next.
